  Had visit to York branch during school holiday. Very small. Had difficulty in finding staff to serve customers. Still managed a few bargains though.

  This store is a Debenhams. If you go here expecting a Marks & Spencers or maybe a Harrods you will be disappointed. It is not one of these. It is a Debenhams. Debenhams is a Department store so within it you have different departments that sell different things unless the departments are close together in which case they may sell the same thins or things of a similar nature.

  Visited today, tried to buy a wool hat and gloves as the weather was freezing. Female member of staff blocking my way. Too busy filling up rails. When I eventually got to the hat I wanted she ignored me standing at the till as did a young male member of staff. If I hadn't been desperate I would have left it. Eventually another member of staff served me

  I looked at website before going as we knew central York Debenhams didn't have a homeware department. We thought from previous experience that retail park shops on the outskirts usually have more space and better selection. But not York. I'm not sure what it does that the dreadful city centre one doesn't.
