::Bon "department store" bien achalandé. Par contre, en milieu d'après-midi, la propreté dans la cafétéria n'était pas au top: chaises sales, table collante et sols qui n'avait pas vu un balai depuis un moment.

::I was looking for jewellery for my wedding, but all I wanted was something simple. The lady there helped but I felt that she was quite forceful. I said I will have to buy things but then I will return them if I am not happy. I mentioned this a few times and she assured me that I can return the necklaces. So I ended up buying 2 necklaces and a bracelet. In the end I kept the bracelet but returned the necklaces because I chose something else to wear. When I went to return them, the same lady was busy with a customer which is fine but she knew I was waiting but chose to ignore me. When she wasn't speak to those other customers I said I wanted to return these items. She was shocked and started huffing and puffing, asking if I want to return all of them. Well I wanted to return 2 out of 3 of the items - that is not all of them! Anyways she then asked me if I wanted to keep them or give them as gifts (still in a bad mood) - well obviously not when I want to return and get my money back! She processed the return in her continued foul mood. I feel sorry for every customer that has had to deal with her when returning items - the whole thing is bad customer service

::First class service at Debenhams restaurant today. Excellent scones and light meals made even better value with 20% discount with a Debenhams Gold Card. However, star of the show were the 3 ladies behind the counter who were cheerful, offered useful suggestions and were exceedingly helpful, carrying trays for customers all with wonderful smiles.

::Very Poor Customer Service. I called in to collect something I had purchased using Click and Collect. I thought this would be a reasonably quick process but I was, sadly, mistaken. Despite pressing the "press for service" button several times I was standing at the counter for more than five minutes. Members of staff did wander by, but none offered any help. Eventually a lady turned up, she offered no apology for my wait. She took my phone and read the details. She then walked off - all without saying a word. She then came back and dropped a grey transport pouch on the desk. I asked her if I could have a bag for these clothes and helped her put it in the carrier bag. She then just walked off again. Do Debenhams now train their staff to say as few words as possible?
