::Maybe it's because I don't have any childhood memories associated with it, and I visited on a freezing foggy day when everything was shut, but I don't get the big deal about Brighton Pier. I can imagine that in the summer it's wonderfully tacky (and BUSY) - vanilla ice cream, fish & chips, kids on fairground rides, etc. But it isn't something I'll go out of my way to visit next time I'm in Brighton.
