Poor experiences with this business. For peace of mind and better service, avoid them. Here's why: Their attitude stinks. They have the geezer front initially and once they've sold you a bike, any interest, effort and care diminishes quickly with each encounter. They lack integrity, as they will lie continuously to a customer and fob them off until you give up on them too instead of them being organised, pro-actively communicating and doing the best they can. I went to trade in my 20 year old Mariner mountain bike and although it had a flat tyre and not in mint condition, it still got compliments by cycle enthusiasts and is reprible brand; Edwards's made out it was completely worthless. But I'd stated I was interested in getting another bike, so I just left it at that... The bike they sold me seemed good for what it was, but quickly found out the left gear shift was not working that well and within the week, it broke. They had said upon sale said: "Any issues, come in and we'll fix it." Upon repair, they replaced the Shimano left gear shift, with non Shimano. It worked okay, but when I stated that I wanted a Shimano on both sides, not just to match, but that was how I was sold the bike, they huffed and said they would have to order the part from Shimano and asked ME to call them next week to ring ahead for the replacement/repair. Each time I called: "Oh it's not in yet, try this day, it will be in then..." After a couple of times, I just went down there and said theyve said this and it's still not sorted... "Oh we will get that sorted and call you as soon as it's in." And when will that be? "Should be next week." You said that 3 weeks ago... Oh well, we will get it, don't worry. We will call you as soon as it's in." Unsurprisingly, I never heard back... Months later, my mud guards seemed to be a bit loose as well the drinks holder. Despite me vowing to not bother using them again, I felt they still owed me seeing as they had sold me the bike in the first place. My reasonable request was met with moody, lacklustre engagement. They tightened the drinks holder (a simple Allan key job, I'll just do myself in future) and said I would need to buy new mud guards. Absolute lazy con artists who don't care about the customers or craft to realise it's part of their business. Even the bike cover they threw in as part of the initial sale, only lasted a matter months as well. They think because they have plenty of bikes and have been around a long time they can be dishonest, rude, cut corners and make excuse and get away with it. Don't let them. There are plenty of other stores in the area to choose from.

I have purchased 2 bikes from Edwards, I have been impressed by the flexibility of the staff, they keep to there word. Well organised, well stocked and practical. They have a range of used bikes to. It's really up to your spending power. You can spend as much or as little as you like.

Proper bike shop run by salt of the earth people who won't rip you off and will see you alright. They sorted out my old 10 speed carbon road bike a treat, thank you! Recommended.

After running around between Halfords stores trying to locate the bike I wanted and finding someone to build it to no avail (and the stores weren't busy) I took myself off to Edwards Cycles as I just wanted to get a bike sorted. From the word go, the service was fantastic. They acknowledged me and made sure I knew that a (busy) team member would be with me asap. Within 2 minutes I was in the hands of a rather chirpy young man (George) who took time to listen to what I was looking for. Immediately he was showing me bikes that fitted my quota of both price and style. The minute I made my decision he was off to the warehouse to collect my bike in my frame size and started building it straight away. He even popped out halfway through to let me know it wouldn't be long and explained what was left to do. Within 10/15 minutes I was presented with my bike. I cannot thank the guys enough for this superior service. Halfords need to take a look because seriously, I wasted a few hours with them and got nowhere. I certainly know where I'll be going in future and who I'm going to recommend when it comes to future bike purchases. Well done guys and thanks for taking the stress out of my day! 😉
