::David Mellen changed to first call for cars from Caerleon cars and now to the car store Newport. He keeps changing his company names to run away from problems he causes selling dodgy cars that are not fit for purpose. In 2015 trading standards took David Mellen and Caerleon Cars to court 10 counts of engaging in commercial mispractice and 4 counts of fraud. In 2014 David Mellen pleed guilty for 9 counts of commercial mispractice pre trial then vacated his plee a couple of months later. In 2015 the judge terminates the case as issues with the offending company name was found. My ex gf bought a car without a valid road tax disc in Nov 2013. It was agreed that Caerleon cars would refund us £277 initially but to prevent them from paying Lee Williams and David Mellen call the police and claim harassment even tho I'de made no contact with them. After a couple of days without receiving this money I emailed Caerleon cars and cc'd the police asking for this money n said don't make me call the police again as I had to to obtain refund for the car becoming clamped and towed away. With this David Mellen calls the police and claims harassment against me again and I got a warning this time, supposedly I was directing forces. All because of their fault for selling a car without a valid road tax disc. Type David Mellen Caerleon cars into Google and see all the Argus articles about him and his comments on the Caerleon knowhere guide where he defends himself. David Mellen - Caerleon cars, first call for cars, the car store Newport can't be trusted to sell vehicles without faults or problems and have stolen £277 from my ex gf.

::I bought a car from here about 6 weeks ago. The car is lush and so was the customer service I received. Dave was great. Needed a few bits sorted and they were without hesitation. Would definitely recommend. Thanks guys and thanks Dave for putting a smile on my face with my new motor. Annemarie.

::Brought a Peugeot 307 from them little over two months ago........the turbo has now gone on the car, went to take it back to the company as it had been sold with a warranty....to my horror i got there and the company name had been changed.....a seemingly helpful member of staff had informed me that the old company had gone into liquidation (this was a new face so i took it as gospel).........did a bit of digging with companies house and it turns out this so called new company has the same director a Mr David Mellen. on further digging it turns out the company has changed names several times and switched directors between two members of the Mellen family (the second being a female so presumably his wife).......on the plus side a former member of staff has been open an honest with me via email (personal email...as i had contacted him in regards to a separate matter) this previous member of staff is to be commended for his honesty and useful guidance on how to best pursue the it legally. the new company is at the same premises and called the car store
