  Excellent service from Fordthorne, car was booked in for a major service and was very happy with the service we received. Woman on the servicing desk was especially helpfull.

  My Car went in for a major service which cost £480.00, a week later it broke down the timing belt snapped so I needed a new head gasket, valves, pistons and timing belt which they quoted me £1,800. I said I couldn't afford the repair so they said they would look for cheaper parts for me. I went ahead on this basis. When I came to pay for the repair the cost was £1,799.they saved me a told of £1.00, but they then said but we've saved you £1,000 as the repair usually cost £3,000. NOT once did anyone say it was that much otherwise I would have scrapped the car as my car is only worth £3,000.SO BE CAREFUL WHEN THE QUOTE FOR WORKS. But a week after this major works my car broke down in a very dangerous section of a B road with smoke coming from the engine. The AA man said there is a major oil leak near the timing belt area may be the crank seal. It got towed back to the garage. The garage said no oil leak it was the turbo but we will change this for free. A week after this repair it broke down again, the AA man said there was oil around the timing belt maybe the crank seal AGAIN! and a dead battery which they charged up replaced the crank seal and I needed new glow plugs which they then charged me £169. This is shocking they have put my family in danger twice. DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE.

  I've been taking my Mk4 Diesel Mondeo here for the last 3 years and always had excellent service. From 60k miles to the 130k that is currently on the clock. The car is always ready when they say it will be ready Staff are always friendly The work needing to be performed has always been in line with manufacturer recommendations. Never have I had work recommended to be carried out that didn't need doing (a check on most car forums can confirm most enquiries) Car is cleaned (although not a valet) before returning it to me There is a drop off/pick up service to Cardiff Central One minor problem I did have was fixed by the service manager within 2 days at no cost to me
