  A good pub that when I was last in looked like somewhere you would go to die, it's totally transformed after the makeover (I know it was a couple of years back). Reasonable prices, good choice of drinks, good soundsystem, nice to have another late license (even if temporary now & then) venue in York, & the staff were reasonable and polite regarding unforeseen circumstance which inconvenienced them dumping our car there for longer than promised, so overall a nice out of town pub with a good sun trap to the rear - and dog friendly! :)

  Lovely pub, friendly staff, dog friendly and lovely beer garden. Chris the landlord is a very hospitable host and is really welcoming of our monthly dog walk. Great party/music venue too.

  There were some good djs playing, El-Mundo & Stranger in Paradise. They got everyone up dancing and was a temporary good atmosphere. But without a particular event on its just a small pub with parking, and nice beer garden for summer. Dingy and clostreophobic inside. Unfriendly rude staff who didn't seem to grasp customer service and to smile . They made me feel awkward at the bar as they whispered amongst themselves. One bar visit is enough with the unfriendly frowning staff. I may go for another event but other than that unless thirsty on a hot day I will not be returning

  Not what I was expecting went for a gig luckily went there later in the day to find it closed until gig time had thought it was a pub with a separate function room original plan was to get there early and have a good drink. For a gig it was a great little venue would happily go there again sadly didn't get to see it as a fully operating pub

  Great little venue with good sound. There's a decent car park and a good outdoor seating area. Okay selection of alcohol, though running out of wine on a Sunday afternoon was a bit rubbish. Other small issues too, but overall a decent venue and pub.
