::i once wrote a review on Facebook but though the power of threats of bans and constant harassment while being their in the venue i was forced to take it down. at the time i was vegan and the food geek retreat catered was not suitable for me at that time. so i wrote a informative review, unlike a normal company that takes criticism and improves on what they was lacking, geek retreat decided to harass me and threaten to kick me out because now the had "jacket potatoes". Now i realise the smash bro's community and been see in a bad light by what has been said about us, but the constant harassment by staff dose not make a good opinion of the venue or the staff. For 8 months i had to endure the constant harassment of "oh you use Geek Retreat you need to change your review". From a customer service standpoint its terrible and feels like bullying. for the prices its very steep 2 pound plus for a drink and sub par food being at ridiculous prices. the whole being force to buy even though the venue received venue fee from any event i attended seems very off putting. i wouldn't recommend coming here personally and the only reason i could ever recommend someone attending such a place is to go to a event if something they have a passion for is unfortunately being hosted at geek retreat.

::I'm not usually leaving reviews, but I'd like to thank the guys at Geek Retreat. As soon as I walked in I immediately felt welcome! They have a little selection of good comics, board and card games and all a geek needs to feel at home. The staff is great, the selection of food is small, but delicious (Expecially milkshakes!). I'm also quite happy that the large group of Smash Bros. is no longer coming, I've seen a lot of bad reviews lately and I can reassure everybody who's reading this one, they just hate the place because they couldn't do whatever they want. Plus, they are quite rude and unfriendly. So no worries, the place just got better!

::This place is so nice to visit! The staff here are so happy to see regular faces everyday. I use this cafe as a place to see friends and draw and play games, and also to have some delicious food

::I have visited this Gaming Cafe multiple times now, it has never let me down as a place I can go to for board games, card games or anything else I could wish for that relates to geeking out. Yes there is a fair usage policy but I can assure anyone looking to visit here that is wholly fair as it doesn't cost much to buy a drink, a cookie or pack of cards or something else, they don't come after you or pester you to buy things they are highly friendly and open along with understanding. Yes they don't allow outside food or drink same as no other cafe that sells food etc would not allow it. They would never search you or your belongings for anything, they aren't that sort plus that is illegal. They have an amazing table side manner that is at first a little different from what I was used to in other places, as they will happily come over, ask how things are going with your game and if you'd like anything from the counter/menu that they will happily go off and get then deliver to your table allowing you to pay while you're still playing your game. I think it's that little thing here and there that they do that makes this the perfect place for geeks and nerds to hang out at. Personally I have only had positive experiences here, I have been going to this place since it opened now and it is my favourite place in the west midlands to go out to. I instantly felt accepted, when I had questions they were answered with a smile and I'm always greeted with a smile and nod or wave as soon as I step in the door. I have a bad case of social anxiety and PTSD but this is one place I never have to worry about, it's a relaxed and fun environment where they welcome you to strike up a card game any time. Even children are more than welcome, if you haven't played a game and are interested in learning the owners will happily teach you or one of the people visiting should be more than happy to teach you. The prices may at first seem a little high but I can assure anyone reading this the price is more than worth what you get, I have tried their milkshakes, a burger and various other things and they are delicious making me want to go back for more each time. So please do yourself and your friends a favour and visit this awesome place, they are well worth the visit and money and we look forward to seeing you :) a multitude of events are going on at any given time so you'll not be bored and that's a promise.

::Really relaxed and friendly, lots of space to play and very nice staff, food and drink are good at a good price. They events such as theme nights and tournaments and offer help to new players, they also have a selection of games to try our for free while there. My only criticism is that the toilets are in poor condition and some tables damaged.
