::Avoid the bike store upstairs in the Cambridge store they are so unhelpful and everything is a problem. Had my bike stollen and had to get a new one to buy a new was complex ended up walking out disapointed. Went somewhere else in the grafton centre a shop called Decathlon went in so helpful came out with a bike fitted to me within a hour sorry halfords but you need to sort out your bike department and staff.

::Clean store and friendly service whenever I drop in. Good range of individual sockets and specialist tools. Had a short wait for a free battery test, as expected the battery was shot but there was no pressure to buy from them. They also offer a free car battery disposal service and you'll get £5 off a new battery in the process.

::The old guy out back is a rude and condescending man. Tries to be helpful by asking non relevant questions and then puts you down because you said 'lug nuts' and not 'wheel nuts'. Going on about me being American but no im not. Hate going in there when he's on the floor, acts like he owns the shop. Gave me an item but would not stop following me around the store for ten minutes till I paid for it. Also see him being rude to others and patronising them. The rest of the staff are nice and helpful but that guy just lets the team down. He's not even that helpful.

::I ordered a bike online, with a pickup time of 4pm on Tuesday. They called me at lunchtime on Tuesday to confirm, and when I called back an hour later they said it was too late to build the bike and it would now be 4pm on Wednesday. I also ordered mudguards; I ask for these to be fitted. Wednesday lunchtime: another call. The bike is scratched; I can either have it for 10% off or order another, but it will not arrive until Saturday. I decide to go there and see the bike for myself. The scratches are not too bad so I agree to take the bike for 10% off. I ask the staff to raise the seat to the correct position which they do, but the mudguards have not been fitted. In fitting the mudguards, the assistant puts the seat back in the wrong position. I decide to sort it out myself at home and pay for the bike. Later, on checking the receipt, I see that the 10% was not been deducted and I was charged full price. Thanks Halfords.
