  Stayed here for the first night of our honeymoon in the Tomassi room and we loved it! The staff were so friendly and really made our stay special, the room was great and the breakfast was delicious. We've already decided we'll go back for our first anniversary.

  We stayed last Friday for my birthday. We were put in a room that had just been done up so have no idea if all of them are like this one. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever had in any hotel anywhere in the world and we travel a lot. The pillows were glorious feather and the sheets were extremely good quality cotton. They gave us a free bottle of Champagne for my birthday. The staff and service was superb. The feel of the place was cosy with little areas to sit privately on lovely leather sofas. The furnishings are how I would like my own house to look. Parking was available which in York is a must! The only slight downside was the dinner. I would definitely stay again but I might eat elsewhere. Many thanks for such a terrific visit

  Arrived to meet family friends with my mother. Friends had booked a table already and we were served quickly whilst we sat, in one of the many seating areas. We ordered our food from there and were brought into the restaurant when the food was almost ready. Food was of high standard and service was quick. No problems with the place, nice atmosphere and would happily go there again.

  We got engaged at Hotel Du Vin last year and came back for a night away without the children as my partner found a fantastic deal for after new year including dinner and breakfast as well as the room (After this stay we will probably be heading back for an anniversary night away as well). We were upgraded to stay in our original room and the service we received at dinner, breakfast and throughout our stay was fantastic again. Nicole and another young lady on the front desk were brilliant with my requests of specific shops to look for in York and happy to help. The kitchen manager also helped change a meal choice as an allergy meant I couldn't have something on the menu and he couldn't be sure that other elements of the meal wouldn't have traces. 2 fantastic experiences here in the last 9 months and look forward to the next visit.

  Nice location for weekend workshops, there is space for up to 14 people in the main meeting room. The Hotel du Vin staff is very kind and welcoming. There is also a restaurant with good food. This location is within 15 minutes walking distance from York train station and also very close to the historic city center. The area is usually quiet.
