  We visit here often and normally excellent food and service On our last visit we booked a table for 4 for a double Birthday celebration. We arrived yesterday at 12 o'clock took our order within 15 minutes, and starters arrived 15 minutes later. The waitress, who we think was Jane, then kept telling us that the main courses would arrive in two minutes. After more than an hour she came back to say that the order had been missed in the kitchen and it would not be long. She then came back and said that that one of the steak pie orders had been used on another order and that they had run out but we could have anything on the menu. We chose the fish and then she came and said the fish was finished as was the burgers. In all this time waiting, four other tables in after us that we seen in the area we were sitting (table 14) had all been served with meals!!! The waitress was very apologetic and said that the kitchen staff were all new. All in all we were in there for over two hours. It hasn't put us off but we would hope the kitchen staff have got up to speed and are more efficient when we return.

  What an excellent garden centre in the middle of the Cumbrian countryside! A perfectly hidden gem just off the main road that I had no idea existed. The lunch we had was absolutely delicious, and the staff were so welcoming and friendly, flexible to what we wanted. We spent ages wandering around finding new things, and the homemade and farm food produce was absolutely fantastic. Definitely a place to come back to more often.

  Nice cafe and good food. But outside area needs tidying up. Farm shop didn't have much stock

  Lovely place for a snack, a coffee, a scone. Has a quirky wee shop too, sells odd bits and bobs. Nice place.
