::Nice coffee and tea. and the sweet treats are just great. They have lots of dessert options, the choice was not an easy one, we basically wanted to order everything... Nice atmosphere. Friendly, but extremely slow service. Quite expensive.

::We were staying at The Park Plaza this last weekend (which was great) & decided to have a coffee and pastry at Le Pain. Big mistake - waited quite a few minutes for someone to stop talking in a group of waiters to come and look after us. An even longer wait - 10 mins at least for anyone to take our order, then another wait for 2 coffees and 2 pastries. The pastries were good, but one of the coffees (latte) was cold (maybe had to wait too long - like us). We asked for the coffee to be taken off the bill, which caused a bit of consternation. The staff were much more interested in talking amongst themselves, with a member of staff sitting behind us in a reserved seat, eating her food and talking to other staff members. There was no-one in charge here. Very badly run. We had a meal at Cote Brasserie in Covent Garden early evening before going to the theatre - this was excellent, very efficient staff, friendly and helpful - they went the extra mile. It would be good for the servers from Le Pain to visit Cote and see just how a good eating place should be serviced.

::The service is inconceivably slow here. Staff is nice, food is good and prices are reasonable but I avoid coming here because I know it will take me ages to settle my bill when I'm done. I've visited five times, and each time I've waited at least 15 minutes after finishing my meal before I've had to flag someone down to clear my table and bring my bill. Last month it took 45 minutes from when we finished our meal to when we were able to get out of there. They must be understaffed because everyone is busy, but the service level is among the worst I've encountered in the neighborhood.
