  Lovely evening had for my boyfriends works meal. So lovely that we have now booked our wedding here. Right next to the Cathedral so stunning views too.

  I stayed at the Lincoln Hotel in a deluxe room for 5 nights with work. The hotel has a dated feel, similar to that of the "modern" feel of the hotel at the very beginning of The Grand Budapest Hotel - a bit 70s and a bit art deco. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and had a small balcony which overlooked Lincoln Cathedral. The fitness suite is one of the strangest "gyms" I've ever been in and is simply a collection of machines in a room. Gets the job done though if you're committed to raising your heart rate whilst away.

  Right at the top of the city and within walking distance of castle and cathedral. Pleasant staff, small room but fit for purpose...no complaints. There are bigger rooms but we were only there for one night so it was fine. Breakfast was lovely but hot food not replenished quickly enough when it ran out. Lovely field mushrooms instead of sliced, which were very tasty. Woukd stay there again.

  Ignore the dreadful 60s exterior that contrasts so jarringly with the area's surroundings, including Lincoln's cathedral that a tiny walk away. The interior has been refurbished, you see. The public areas are fine, with a modern retro style, but there's a lot of original 60s architecture still showing. That's even more true in the rooms. I had a top floor Deluxe room - the best you can get this side of a suite - and it was a mixed affair. Despite a desk, there was no usable plug nearby, not by the bed. The TV didn't work, there were cables dangling around, the windows let lots of noise in, the bath was tiny and the toilet had a mismatched and poorly fitted seat. The bed was comfy though, and there was a good amount of space in the room. Food was good, too, although the bar area was very small. The Lincoln has an amazingly good location, but the rest really does fall short of expectations. It's a faded glory that's not been revived quite enough.

  It's always a pleasure booking into The Lincoln Hotel. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The location is amazing with the dinning room looking out onto the amazing Cathedral so giving very special views. The rooms are always tidy and clean with a nice selection of teas etc. Breakfast is really good with a great selection of good quality produce. Well worth a visit.
