  On arrival the door was opened for us, check in was easy, the receptionist more than happy to help with any questions we had. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Bathroom had a bath and separate shower. Had breakfast in the morning. Very well presented and staff through the visit were extremely friendly and professional. The hotel is worth a stay. ***** Easily!

  I stayed one night to attend a conference which was hosted at the hotel. The room was large, confortable and clean, but the shower drain was clogged so the showed filled with water very quickly. There was only one large towel - not much for £150 a night. The conference rooms were very good. The dinner was highly unsatisfactory: I had asked for a vegan meal but the soup contained bacon - yet the card on the table was labelled 'vegan' and the waiter confirmed the soup was vegan. They did bring me the correct food when I complained but the service was very slow and people at my table were served at different times. I was made to wait for a long time after everybody else had been served. The buffet lunch on the following day was fine but dessert only consisted of cakes - so no vegan option. When I asked, they brought some fruit.

  Arrived at 14:00 but told check in is from 15:00 and room wasn't ready so would have to come back at 15:00 which was fine as hotel is near to city centre. Came back to check in at 15:05 but told room still wasn't ready and was told to go away and it'll be ready when I come back, explained I'd just done that already so was given a free drink at the bar while I waited. The room itself was a double which was a good size and the bath and shower were excellent. When we returned from our night in the town we ordered room service. Just some sides so nothing big, it took almost an hour for these to arrive so was given them for free as they were cold, I would rather have paid and had them warm and sooner though. £20 for the car park seems a bit overpriced when you are a guest luckily this was saved I assume for the poor service. In reflection It's not up to standard MacDonald hotel expectations but the room and breakfast were both of good quality, just a shame about the other issues.

  A roomy, comfortable hotel room for a reasonable price. I enjoyed the big bath tub, and appreciated having a little side table and two comfy armchairs, as well as use of the desk. What would make this hotel great would be a firmer mattress, and plugs by the beds for charging your mobile phone. The lamp had also stopped being functional. Otherwise, I would definitely stay here again. It's great that it's only a 3 minute walk to Manchester Piccadilly station.
