  Bad experience today,joined a long queue at the checkout.. only 2 cashiers working, the lady on customer services tried to get more staff on but to no avail.. returned goods to the racks and left the store.. my time is valuable too.

  Worth a browse, on same level as Primark, long que to be expected on run up to Christmas. Helpful staff.

  Matalan St Albans branch- worst experience ever! Dirty and filthy store, no stock availability, lazy dreadful staff walking around doing nothing with half asleep management... this branch it’s a joke!!!

  I was 2nd in the queue and had to wait 10 minutes to be served. I dread to think what the other 15 people in the long long queue must have been thinking. when a woman asked if she could return goods at click and collect the till worker said she would have to do it at "all tills" and directed her to the end of the 15 long queue. she rightly said "are you kidding me? I have just waited 10 minutes for you to serve me, how long is THAT queue going to take" the woman turned her back and didn't respond. how the staff all managed to take their break at the same time I don't know. but more importantly for a store that serves really slowly, how did they manage to let the queue get that long!? This was 2pm ln a friday, good luck when they get busy at christmas

  I've shopped here many many times at different days and times. I must say that this visit was the worst! This place has gone downhill! This is especially disappointing as I now.live further away and now need to travel in order to shop there! The place was a massive mess! I get that I was visiting towards the end of a probably very busy Saturday but this was the worst I've evert seen it! The changing rooms were full of mountains of clothes! I could have easily stolen anything I wanted as they weren't manned. Surely there should be people tidying up through the day? I visited at around 5.30pm and shopped until around 6, maybe 6.05..... I didn't actually leave until after 6.30 because first I was queueing to pay. Then queueing again as the woman who served me (wile she was having a lovely chat to every single one of her colleagues and not paying enough attention to what she was doing) managed to scan an item twice! She performed a refund and did apologise though was still chatting away to colleagues! All in all infuriating and disappointing. They need to up their game as I now will think twice before bothering to go there!
