::Wow, stayed here February 2010 with the wife to be (before we'd got engaged) & it's still probably the best hotel experience we can remember 😍😍 We stayed in the old part, the proper building in one of the suites and it was so worth the extra money!! Felt like celebrities in there, big bathroom with heated floor, stand alone tub etc. Big old windows, a massive 4 poster bed & complintary champagne and chocolates for valentine's 😍 The bar area was great, the restaurant we loved the food too. Shame was February, it was cold, but quite sunny or we'd have gone outside more and explored the grounds. Let down was the Pool & gym area to be honest. Hope they've made this larger and nicer by now.

::My friend and I stayed here in mid April for a midweek spa break. We received a call during our journey down to say our beauty therapist was off sick so our treatments would need to be changed to the next day. No hint of compensation for any inconvenience. The hotel in general seems disjointed, spread over a huge area. We had a lovely room in the hall which is incredibly quiet and largely un-staffed. We enjoyed the tranquility here. To say that the staff are unfriendly may be a step too far but they lack personality and warmth. A willingness to provide information would definitely not go amiss. The pool is too shallow to swim in successfully, there is a steam room and sauna but no jacuzzi. The therapy rooms are very bright and not conducive to relaxation and there is no relaxation suite to my knowledge, it was strange to have a massage and then just leave. The alternative was to ‘relax’ by a pool occupied by children enjoying a swim. Our therapist was accomplished and very nice but we had filled out the form which asks if you prefer conversation or silence; this information goes unheeded. The food here is good but not spectacular. If you’re looking for ‘average’; you will certainly find it here.

::Outstanding customer service!!! We recently attending a wedding here and got snowed in. The staff went above and beyond to make sure the day when ahead for the bride and made sure everyone was looked after and kept safe. Amazing managers and brilliant staff. Thank you all for making a crazy weekend memorable for all the right reasons.

::Fantastic hotel. Service is not quite what it used to be. Was a bit disappointed that the hall reception has gone, that ruins the experience when staying in the hall. Now that the hall rooms are only used for functions it's pretty much dead most of the time and no longer serving breakfast there means you need to treck all the way outside and back to reception. Still a great place though and would recommend staying in the hall

::I stayed here for just one night and was really pleasantly surprised. The hotel is set in lovely grounds, although it can be a little difficult to find for the first time (especially as one of the entrances are closed). The rooms are spread across a number of buildings and the whole place feels airy. There is a reasonable size gym and pool, which was an added bonus. Breakfast was plentiful and completely self service, so no waiting around. The evening meal was reasonably priced and to a good standard.
