::Went in in connection with a bereavement, following instructions from NatWest's Bereavement Department which, because I was known to NatWest and on their systems, did not require me to show ID. Despite that, the lady demanded ID and refused to help saying because she herself did not know who I was it didn't matter what anybody else in the bank had written or done. She refused to check, was totally unhelpful and it turns out she was not even working to NatWest's own rules, as later confirmed to me by NatWest's helpful Bereavement Department who apologised on behalf of the bank. Don't expect the petty-minded staff at St Albans to listen to reason or use their brains, they just love to tell you what to do even if they're wrong..
