::A marvel piece of engineering history. This is a unique iron bridge as it’s still in service from the Industrial Revolution construction finishing in 1850. It isn’t too far from the city centre and can be reached via two cycle paths north and south of the River Nené which meanders its way to Ferry Meadows and on into Lincolnshire. This metal bridge is now sadly one of a kind, and a Grade II listed building... but a great back drop to Peterborough’s eclectic past. The River Nene stretches 161 miles, passing through four counties from its source in Northamptonshire stretching to Norfolk.
