::Came to North Laine Hair company after being recommended it by a friend, but I would sadly not recommend it to anyone. I came in for a consultation to get my brown hair bleached and tinted silver, a big change. The stylist asked if he could do a strand test which I agreed to, he didn’t explain what this was and I wrongly assumed that it meant dying a small piece of my hair right there and then. He then sectioned my hair in the back, braided a small piece and cut it off at the roots. I was left shocked and open mouthed as I would never had agreed to this had I know what was coming. When I came back for the actual appointment it was with a different stylist for some reason and my strand of hair never reappeared having been dyed, and was never mentioned. So I’m still confused as to why it was cut off. The bleaching took a long long time, I was there for about 5/6 hours total and the stylist left and cut/coloured three other people whilst I was in the many stages of bleaching, washing, toning. The washing was the most painful I have ever had in a salon, the staff need to be more aware that a freshly bleached scalp is very sensitive. I wouldn’t have minded the stylist leaving me and coming back over and over had she not sighed loudly each time she came back to me, she was very obviously sick of doing my hair by hour 4 and couldn’t be bothered anymore. I ended up having stages washed out individually which meant at one point kneeling forwards in the chair and putting my face in the sink to wash the front part out. Again, I wouldn’t have signed up for this had I known. I ended up having white/grey hair and a yellow fringe which a different stylist had to re-do as my stylist was busy with someone else. At the end I was advised on what care products to use, they asked what I currently used and I said “Kerastase” and was told I “shouldn’t use kerastase because it’s owned by L’Oréal and L’Oréal use sulphates in all their products” they then recommended me products by RedKen who are also owned by L’Oréal and all the products I was recommended had sulphates in them. I would never go back.

::Friendly, experienced and patient. I go there 3-4 times a year, by no means am I a regular but they've always done such a great job with my hair. I don't trust anyone else, they really are the best. I've moved out of Brighton and I still go there for my haircut, worth the effort.
