Really good time, although not really a castle as only a small bit of it still stands (it's more of a hall with art). Recommend coming with kids as it makes it a lot more fun with their fascinated faces. Good for a sunny day, even has a nice little playground with ping pong. Sorted.

Not what I was expecting at all. Nothing of the medieval castle seems to remain and very little information about the actual history of the castle. It's just a (not very good) art gallery with a bit of a garden. Hopefully the renovations over the next couple of years will improve the visitor experience and actually explain the castle's history.

The sun was out and we had an amazing day exploring Nottingham castle and caves. All the staff were lovely and friendly and very knowledgeable on the castle's history. £8 per adult or £6 for a child & an extra £5 each for the cave tour (worth it don't miss out on the cave tour based on the extra charge) Lots of different things to see and be educated by via many channels with lots of child friendly learning. Over all a great day out and at the end of the cave tour you end up in 'ye old trip to Jerusalem' pub for a light refreshment.

Dropped in with some friends for a quick visit and spent hours there! For £8 you get entry into the castle grounds and the museum. Whilst the original castle isn't standing, the grounds are pretty big and have excellent views across Nottingham. The museum houses an art gallery with some great pieces for it's relatively small size. The museum itself has a number of exhibitions on the history of the city. There are also frequent tours of the cave systems under the castle hill. Great visit for those visiting the city for the first time.

A great place to bring your kids. At very step, there are fun games for kids to play and learn about history, so they will never be bored. Lots of hills which makes it a tad difficult for pushchairs and wheelchairs, but there are ramps and lifts, so it's not impossoble. See really liked the addition of artwork from local artists as well as historical art. It really brings everything together in a tasteful way. The cafe could have an update though... menu and decor wise.
