A++++ Very nice health club. You can come here have a work out then you can relax in the hot tub, sauna or steam room.

I thought I'd give this gym a try after being recommended by friends, as I was in the area I managed to get a day pass. Not really knowing what to expect, as gyms can be hit or miss. I was greeted by friendly and courteous staff who were very helpful and even offered me a tour. I tend to find my own way and the staff were happy to allow me the freedom to do so, but made sure I found my bearings. The changing rooms were clean, but did have the typical boys changing rooms at school whiff about it. There's an abundance of space to get changed and plenty of lockers to stow your belongings in. I was impressed by the small luxuries like the spin dry machine for your wet clothes post-swim and hairdryers too (even though I'm bald). The gym itself is located on the upper floor, which I found to be surprisingly small and badly laid out. I can understand the need to maximise space but the equipment seems very jumbled around as well as being tightly packed together... which I can imagine can be a safety hazard when it's full to capacity. The equipment itself is generally good, however I was dubious of the leg press as it looked very old and another member warned me not to use it as it's rather 'rickety'... so I gratefully gave that a miss. Overall the gym is okay, but it does need rearranging into a better order with some serious consideration of h&s. Post-workout I headed to the pool, located on the ground floor, which also has jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The shower area was clean and tidy, and my only gripe here is that the water could do with being a bit hotter... But maybe that's because I like a near scalding water temp. Overall it's a good gym that's in need of a spruce-up and change around, but in saying that... I would use again.

I am giving a two star rating because this place apart from having a shower after the work out offers nothing special than other gyms.First its very expensive ,second, some personal trainers ,not all, prefer to work out with ladies and hence show favoritism.I have seen this many times. Thirdly, the gym could be extremely busy and intolerable at times especially during early morning and early evenings. The pool and the Jacuzzi is always filled with at least 5...6 people unwilling to get out. Was a member for 8 months and got nothing. The receptionists in general are very well-mannered and professional .I do not recommend it in general.

No signs of improving Starting to lose patience with this place. My wife and I use this centre 5 days a week. And don't mind the fact some of the reception staff are more friendly than others. Or the instructors, when not involved in thier clients hover together discussing their weekends. Bar the new girl who looks after people who need help and keep a the gym tidy as does the Australian guy, when Simon is working the younger guys tend to look busy. But when the spa area is consistently breaking down, often with no notice or explanation. And you change the settings so you have to keep turning the jacuzzi on manually. And no instructions on how to do this. The spa is out every month getting serviced/cleaned, some mornings staff have to be asked to turn the jacuzzi on as they tend to forget and with the regular breakdowns is totally unacceptable when you are taking £80 a month. Gym wise there are better and cheaper gyms in Plymouth. The only difference is your spa, which is proving unreliable and frustrating. I am sure you will not miss our £80 a month when we go. But at least you will know why. Update 24.11.17 Despite a slight improvement. The sign explaining how the jacuzzi works and far better interaction at the desk. To find the jacuzzi out of action again and the staff were not even aware until I pointed it out and it was obvious that the male showers had not been cleaned. As a bit of chewing gum from Thursday was still there. Not good.

Very nice health club. It is pricey but it is worth it. You can come here have a work out then you can chill out in a hot tub, sauna or steam room. It is much bigger than first expected from outside.
