Firstly, I'd encourage you to read other reviews. Mine is not unique. I wish I had. The employee who attended a problem with our heating barely tried to investigate the issue before quoting over £250 for something they weren't even sure was the problem (that of course doesn't include the call out fee which is almost double the price you can get elsewhere). The National Gas Service solved the problem in 30 seconds for free, even though the issue (simply turning a dial) had nothing to do with them! We never heard from them again to follow up until someone phoned us months later to pay for the extremely useless visit. To be fair they did send the invoice after the visit but their emails go into spam...but I was told that's my fault. When I asked them to review their fee due to the lack of expertise and inaccurate diagnosis observed, I was then sent a sarcastic and impudent email (I'm sure a response to this review will demonstrate what I mean). Fine if you don't have the skills, but to completely drop the ball on customer service, something you would think is essential for a successful service related business. Let me help here. This is how a simple, unoffensive response should have gone to my fee query "Sorry you didn't receive the invoice initially and I'm afraid we can't reduce the fee on this occasion as this is our standard call out fee. Please let us know if you have any questions." In summary, AVOID.

Definite scam artists! AVOID!! Came by to fix my boiler and it broke down again about 12 hours later. They tried to give me some cock and bull story about how my boiler was against regulations (I checked the regulations myself and what he said was not true) and tried to scare me into paying for over £1000 in repairs!! A couple days later I got a real plumber in to look at the boiler. The issue wasn't anything like what the people at blackhall plumbers said it was and the regulations scare was complete nonsense. Boiler was fixed in about 30min. All I had to pay was a call out fee. It's been fixed for 2 weeks now without any problems.

Apparently professional, not really matched up in reality. We had asked for a quote to install a new electric hot water system. The surveyor was changed at the last minute and a gas engineer was sent, who assured us that they would be able to take the details and give a quote. We then got told they hadn't got enough details and needed to come back. Frustrating enough, but we thought we should still give them a try. The end of the agreed appointment time comes, and they had not turned up. Phoned up the office and they were closed earlier than they claimed. we then called the emergency line. The man who answered was polite enough at least initially. When i pressed for him to simply pass on my phone number to the person who was meant to be coming, he refused and then hung up. When i called back he again just said nothing he was willing to do and that my tone was off and that i shouldn't tell him what to do. Maybe i am wrong but i didn't see anything wrong with pushing that my phone number be texted to the surveyor so that he could contact me to discuss the next step. Someone did call back, though only to give me a ticking off without listening to my side of the experience. I do think it is admirable to defend ones employees. However I think it is also important to listen to both sides of a discussion, especially where your potential customer has been messed around. To be clear, i have not obtained any services from Blackhall and do not intend to.
