::Drs receptionsits as unhelpful as ever bit the doctors care and are helpful
Carol Thomas
::We have been with the surgery for 25 years, having moved here in 1992. I have always received excellent service from them. The Dr's are exceptional. My husband, now adult youngsters and I health care has always been taken seriously with compassion and respect. My Husband, our 2nd son and I see the Dr's on a regular basis because of ongoing health issues. We see specific Dr's for regular treatment, who we have built up a relationship with over the years. We also have an arrangement for direct contact to our Dr through reception if necessary. You can get urgent appointments on the day if it is an emergency, call backs by the duty Dr etc. Cornlands Road has an pharmacy attached which makes life much easier. You can also make telephone appointments as well as normal appointments. Overall there services have grown over the years with the introduction of technology for such as online appointments, text appointment reminders, prescription order and so on. I would have given a 5/5 and it is 5/5 for the Dr's service however sometimes I struggle with telephone/reception difficulties as there has been alot of changes on that side in recent years. That it is though probably down to me as the surgery has grown in size and the first point of call is not always easy as I don't know the front of the staff like I used too Make your appointments in advance. If there is none available and you want to see a specific Dr ask when they are next available and get used to ringing in advance, else it is harder to see the Dr you want too. I will add there is usually a bit of a wait to see certain Dr's, when you go for your appointment, however that is down to the popularity of some of the Dr's and that they don't rush you in and out

::Rude on the front desk... better hope nothing too serious is wrong with you as you have to wait at least a month

::I rang up for an appointment and I was told that although there are numerous doctors across all the surgeries, I would have to wait at least 3 weeks until January for an appointment, unless I needed Urgent care. This is an appalling situation which needs to be addressed by this practice. I was asked if my problem was 'routine' and if it was then I should be able to wait 3/4 weeks. She could not give me a definition of 'routine' but I suspect most people who ring up for a doctors' appointment will not want to wait a month for an appointment and would not classify their problem as routine by the very definition of needing to see a doctor. Neither would I say I need 'Urgent care'
