  We had a lovely birthday meal at the Rock and fountain. The food was good and was great value, at 2 courses for 12 pounds. The portion sizes were large and the atmosphere is nice.

  Nice little place but steaks weren't cooked how we like them.. my medium rare was too rare and partners medium well was done too well for him.. busy when we got there as well, there was a big party.. staff seemed to be focusing on that mostly.

  We went on a Friday night and it was busy. As we went in the door we were taken straight away to our table. I was getting my coat off and at the same time the waitress was asking me what drink we would like, felt a little rushed. The table were too close together ,well where we were seated at least. The food was good but when it came for time to pay we were given the bill and had to queue at the bar to pay . Its meant to be a restaurant well going by the prices anyway but its acting like a pub grub set up. We were dress accordingly for an evening out in a good restaurant but there was people walking about in shorts and flip flops. Nothing wrong with shorts but its meant to be a restaurant and they are not afraid to charge, for the money I expected more, Its not always the food its the whole experience service, seating, atmosphere and food but I have to say it did not have it Its a no from me and I will not be back
