::Very challenging path up to Arthur's Seat, but in exchange you get an unbeatable view of Edinburgh. It's also much less crowded. For anyone who likes a good challenge, this is the way to do Holyrood Park, not the main path. Just make sure to take plenty of water!

::De stevige beklimming is de moeite waard. Het park met daarin Arthur's seat is wonderschoon. Het zicht op Edinburgh is prachtig.

::Breathtaking 360° views of Edinburgh and the surrounding royal park. There are 2 very different level trails to the summit, in terms of difficulty. The main trail is well kept, wide and flat and suitable for most; including dogs and children. The other path (the west side) is very demanding with switchback paths of boulders, rough stairs made of boulders, and dirt paths steep enough it requires your hands. The main path crosses in front of the ruins of a church. Ensure you prepare for screaming winds, especially at the top that will easily rip hats off, or phones out of hands.
