  Awful - We have been here a few times over the years but it seems that Health and safety, or so the people running it said, has taken over the enjoyment of camping at this site, the attendants measured the distances between tents and awnings and gazebos we were all part of the same group booked in at the same time under the same name but we were a considerable distance from each other. We had a civilised bbq in a travel bbq, not a disposable one so made for purpose, we then put a heat log on the bbq so we could stay warm later into the evening so we could socialise with each other and enjoy the outside environment, we were promptly then told by one of the attendants to put out the heat log as it was classed as an open fire, this was also said with the tag line of, 'apologies for spoiling your fun'. We will never go to that camp sight again unless there are dramatic changes.

  Very nice people there, you could chat to them all day. But if you like your own space this isn't for you

  We have now stayed twice at Sheriff Hutton and will return in the future. It is a lovely site, with very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location for York and all Yorkshire many location, from Knaresborough to Whitby.

  The pitches are nice and level and facilities are very clean but it is out of the way and transport is needed to get anywhere because the road outside the camp is national speed limit and there are no footpaths.

  A very nice site with well cleaned facilities. It is perfectly situated close to many of the transport links to local attractions (such as the park and ride to York).
