::Dating from 1090 A.D, consecrated by St Anselm, this beautiful Church is located at the top of Harrow Hill, with protected, unfettered views from the Peachy Stone viewing platform across Churchfields. The views extend to Windsor on clear days. Pre 1090 A.D, the whole Churchfields site was a sacred Grove of Druidic worship for the Pagan Gmeningas tribe, from 747A.D., who farmed the surrounding land, namely Churchfields, in terraces and is the last vestiges of medieval farming that can still be seen today. Churchfields, and by default, St Mary's Church, is part of the Pre-Christian Harrow Pentagram.

::A very peaceful and stunning church. Good to visit also for the view.

::Prominent on the highest point in Middlesex this historically significant Gade I Listed church is much restored, surrounded by a wood and a melancholic overgrown cemetery abutting 'Harrow on the Hill School.' Evocative and picturesque with sweeping views westward. Unfortunately Byron's ..." Spot of my youth !.." is currently dispiriting and enervating with broken railings, the prospect impaired by an overgrown hedge. Poetic license welcome here.
