::Worst experience I have ever experienced at any main dealer. I would put no stars if it would allow me! Went to this dealer in good faith to see if they could diagnose an engine management light on my dashboard, I was told they could see nothing on the key and it needed to be admitted to the work shop which would be £150 for a diagnostic check to be carried out. I have since found out that other Synter group dealers charge much less for the diagnostic check, two other garages charge £90 and one other £75, plus they say if they find the fault in the first 10 minutes you would nor be charged for the remaining 50 minutes. This garage does not stick to this policy even though part of the same group. As a result of my car being kept in on the Monday as it could not be seen in the workshop until the Wednesday I had to incur further costs in hiring a car as there was no courtesy car available until March 22nd!! Get some more courtesy cars then. I needed the hire car due to my partner being disabled and could not be without a car for two days. On Wednesday I received a brief video on my car on the ramps, I was informed the engine management light had gone out but it was showing a fault on the oxygen sensors either side of the catalytic converter (costing £460) on googling these parts they cost £60! I was also informed that they carried out a health check which when I queried this later was told it was a legal requirement, (which is not the case, it is a service that they provide), and that my car was not fit to be driven on the road and is extremely dangerous to drive as my top mount had come away from the car, which although it may of when it was on the ramp, I have since been informed that although it would need to be fixed with the weight of the vehicle on the mount when it had been lowered to the floor that it was perfectly safe to drive as it had nowhere to go. Whilst on the ramp the wheel was slightly leaning inwards and as a result extremely dangerous, again though I was advised by both independent mechanics this is what naturally happens when a car is on the ramp! Funny enough though they didn't show the other wheel face on as it would of been exactly the same. They also said my brake pipes had corroded and was unsafe to drive. I had both these issues check at two independant garages and they both confirmed that the car was NOT unsafe or dangerous to drive and thought the Synter dealership was scare mongering me into having unnecessary work done and up selling. The totally cost of the work quoted at their dealership was close to £2k or you could trade it in for another vehicle!! There were other faults picked up such as oil leaks and coolant leaks which I was well aware of and the auxiliary belt also needed changing (another £500) which on checking at other garages again was perfectly fine. Basically I ended up paying £150 for them to clean my car !! most expensive car wash I have ever had!! On bringing up my findings with the service manager Rachel, she informed me of the standard line that "in their opinion my car was dangerous and unsafe to drive" I was apologised to for being told the health check was a legal requirement which it isn't and then told after informing her that other garages charge less for the diagnostic checks that "we are a franchise and we can charge what we like!" Other non dealerships will carry this out free of charge. I was actually thinking of actually upgrading my mini in September before this experience but its safe to say that I will never be using this dealership again or buying another mini. On requesting a refund of £150 for cleaning my car (which I never even asked for) I was told NO. I feel I have been ripped off and scare mongered into having unnecessary expensive work carried out on my 12 year old mini which was serviced a month ago and holds a current MOT. After a heated conversation with Rachel and getting nowhere I left the conversation to think about what I was going to do, so here is my review which I will be forwarding to their head office complaints Dept.

::Hi would not recommend this dealership for any repairs my vehicle was called in for a brake vacuum and coil pack replacement after the work was carried out my car was not right I begin to have nothing but problems the car was sent to the workshop 4 times and in that time I had to spend 150 pound on a low pressure fuel senior this also did not solve the problem so the car when back in in the end I was told it was a Oxygen O2 Lambda Exhaust Sensor which cost 550 pounds lucky enough I did not pay this and BMW them selves covered the cost but it's not the point as my car had Oxygen O2 Lambda Exhaust Sensor fitted which would have cost me 550 and labour on top a lot of money and still have problems with all the tools and equipment they hold and being a main for BMW I would not recommend as the Craftsman ship and knowledge of there own vehicles are very poor enter and own risk should be put on the door good luck to any one who my fall in to the same shows as me

::Excellent staff, tea and coffee available, location isn't ideal to go for a walk while your car is being serviced but not their fault. I waited for a service on previous visited and sat at a table to do some work, the staff offered me an office to work in if required which is excellent. This is by far the best garage, service and support I have been to by far.
