::I've used them twice, for both electricians and heating engineers and both times they were excellent. Very polite, professional and prompt. Solved the issues on the spot. Quite pricey but I phoned around both times and everyone quoted very similar prices.

::We were repeatedly told to change our old boiler (that was working fine including in very cold weather) 3 years ago and had T.B. Mackay install a new one. We have had endless problems since and the company's response has been shockingly unhelpful on each occasion. We are now experiencing cold weather for the first time in 3 years and the boiler has packed in again. Do not touch them with a barge pole! I received the standard reply in response to the above but the point is I would NEVER contact you again for any service. I have called one of your competitors and they could not have been more helpful or competent, they really took time to diagnose the problem and would not leave until they had fixed it, and without charging the earth for it either! In passing, and without any prompt from me about your prior involvement, they also pointed to how badly the boiler had been installed with "the pipe just pushed through the wall and no insulation around, no wonder it froze and created condensation at the first sign of cold weather"...

::Some years ago I called T B Mackay for a second opinion when another firm told me my boiler was a write off and I needed to spend £ 3K on a new one. (Heaven knows how much they'd try to take us for now.) T B Mackay's guys came round and found the problem was a bit of dirt, and charged us (from memory) about a fiver. I've used them ever since, most recently for a boiler service. The cost of around £80 doesn't seem to have gone up for a few years. They have always been on time, polite, friendly and professional. Our boiler is now so ancient it doesn't even have an efficiency rating, but it has served us well. We asked the guy about replacing it and got lots of useful advice but no hard sell. So obviously T B Mackay will be one of the firms we ask for a quote. I can't comment on the negative reviews on here, but our experience has always been positive.

::They got the job done, but their project management caused a lot of frustration. I've now asked three times for the invoice for the bathroom they did for us almost 2 months ago. Had to continually call to make sure they were coming to finish things. Won't use again. Just updated my review to one star after yet another mistake they made with our final bill. Really frustrated by this company.
