::A dreadful shopping experience. I have been shopping in this store since May 2017 on an almost weekly basis. Since then, not one week has gone by where I have been able to buy all of the items on my shopping list. When one discusses the non-availability of stock with workers in store, they empathise. As the situation does not improve from one week to the next, it is clear that these workers are unable to do anything of practical significance to ameliorate the situation. Whenever I push my trolley around the store the gaps in the product range on the shelves and in fresh food cabinets are noticeable which makes for a very poor shopping experience. By contrast the Lidl branch next door is well stocked and is seldom out of anything that I have ever wanted to buy. The prevailing situation in this branch of Tesco is unacceptable because in a market economy businesses are expected to bring supply and demand in to equilibrium whereas the shopping experience at Tesco Broughton Road is more akin to the former Soviet Union Food Distribution System. Yesterday, I asked an Assistant working alongside the detergent fixture where I might find Woolite and was surprised by the response, "This is not my section." If Tesco trained its staff properly, or employed staff with an ounce of common sense, this Assistant would know that he ought to advise the customer that he would make enquiries; and above all else not leave a customer until the customer has been helped. I have completed countless on-line surveys about the non-availability of products; outlining disappointing shopping experiences and have concluded that Tesco has wasted my time. Today, I telephoned Tesco Head Office to discuss the situation and wondered why I bothered. It is manifestly plain that Tesco Call Centre staff are unable to escalate matters in any purposeful way. If I go to Waitrose in Edinburgh at Morningside or Comely Bank, I am able to buy what I want and have only been disappointed very occasionally. My advice is to avoid this branch of Tesco. 30th April Update. As a result of abysmal shopping experiences in this branch of Tesco, I have been shopping in the Morrison's Superstore at Pilton Drive, Edinburgh, approximately a mile and a half away, and found a shopping experience that leaves Tesco sitting in the back. The shelves at Morrison's are fully stocked and spotlessly clean, the displays are tidy, the quality of fruit, vegetables, fish and meat are very good and, above all else the products are keenly priced. Go to Morrison's, I say, for a better experience.

::I have been using this store for a fair few years. Always used this store as my main shop, I shop every other day if not almost every day, parking can be a pain unless you don't do your shopping wen some use it as a parking lot, you see the same cars Monday to Friday so the 3 hr parking limit is just a joke, as for the store, at busy times there are more stock trollies on the floor then shopping trollies, the most on one Isle Iv sin was 7, like no room for customers, it makes it worse where they are to busy to think about the customer trying to dodge them fill shelves. They are constantly moving items around the store, I want to shop not play hind n seek and due to this I had I problem finding something them moved, finally found the item paid for all my shopping and left, however the security guard collared me outside and was well out of order rude and unproficinal assulted me and all I got was realy a sorry from our of the management, not even a keep you sweet gesture. I have noticed prices constantly going up and up and up, if you shop for animals ei cats n dogs there selection is very poor and in a very small section. They often get new item ls in and after a few wks they are removed. And finally with the exit to tescos when in a car can be a waiting game, if you go at peak times the trafic lights only lets 3 cars out before changing back to red. So yes there you go. Time for improvement.

::Parking has become impossible at this store during the week as the local employees of other businesses park here. Easier to park and shop at the Lidl next door whilst saving a few £’s. No enforcement of the 3 hour parking so would make a great alternative to the park and ride

::Considering its rather central location, this Tesco branch has everything you need. Good pedestrian, cycling, and road access.

::Small(ish) Tesco in central location that is always busy (but check-out queues are well managed and never a problem). Great range of goods for such a small store.
