  Located within New Hall hotel the restaurant has been relocated into a somewhat sombre setting which whilst carrying history, lacks warmth and soul. The sophisticated take on a seasonal turkey dinner fell short on both expectations, and execution. That said, the flavour was ok but at £20, VFM was not part if the equation. Desert was Crème brûlée and Arctic Roll with soaked strawberries. The former was excellent. The latter looked great but didn't taste great and the sponge was awful. £12 and £16 respectively. Having eaten at other hand picked hotels we had really looked forward to this experience, but the food was really 3 stars and VFM would struggle for 2 stars. Impeccable service rescues the day and scrapes three stars. We have to support these wonderful buildings, their customer service, and the opportunity to avert corporate food chains.
