  Superb food , Real ale , Excellent service, lovely old place , set in lovely country surroundings , wish this was my local ( we traveled from Essex ) recommend this . Will be coming back definitely

  Lovely venue, great food and service. This particular experience was just a little tarnished because parents seem to think it's OK to let their kids run around screaming and disturbing other diners. The pub management needs to take responsibility for not allowing it to happen.

  I came to this pub for an early dinner on a recommendation from friends in the area. Make sure you book ahead of time! The place was lovely, with open fires and a variety of areas to sit with different feelings (we sat in the cosy front bar area with a fire, but there was also a garden room and more formal dining area). The food was really good, I had the venison and it was cooked beautifully! My friends had a steak burger, and salmon, both of which looked lovely. The cheese board was good and had 4 decent sized cheeses and a nice chutney. I docked 1 star because we were initially given a very cold table and asked to move somewhere warmer. Even though only one other table was occupied, we were given a different table right by the main front door, as this was the only one not booked. This is fair enough, but most of the tables were still empty by the time we finished and left. Still, the atmosphere was good and the food was excellent. I'd come again!

  Always a brilliant selection of food and drinks. The menu changes daily and there is always a wide selection of local meats, ales and spirits available. Brilliant service and a great place for a late lunch. Dogs welcome too!

  Love The Chaser. Great food, lovely staff, reasonably priced, always clean and well presented. A generally great atmosphere. Will always recommend!
