Nice but busy historic pub in Hampstead. The Sunday roast is superb, reservations needed absolutely worth the visit. Love this place.

Tucking into a lovely Sunday roast is the best way to wrap up a winter weekend and the Flask delivered in spades! My wife and I were initially seated right near the bathroom but were considerately offered another table by our super attentive and lovely waitress, Faye. On to the food! After much deliberation we both decided on the roast beef and were very glad we did: it was downright delicious. The beef sirloin was perfectly cooked and amply rationed, and the beef cheek, well what can I say? It was outrageously tender and a highlight of the plate. All the accompaniments were just right and the sticky toffee pudding concluded everything superbly. Faye was very friendly and made our stay that much more comfortable. We hope to visit again!

This was sort of our "local" when I was a kid, has been redone but still feels like walking into a piece of history. One side for the sports, another for the eating. LOVED the sausage roll by the inch idea, completely inspired.

It's a busy place in a great location. We managed to find a miniscule table after a long walk in the Heath. Sunday lunch was the favourite for all of us. Except the food was not that exciting. My beetroot nut roast was extremely spicy and the veg sauce that came with it very watery. My other friend found her roast beef tough. The third ordered a smoked salmon salad which came on a bed of overcooked rice. I would only drink at this pub in future and eat somewhere else.

I recently requested a table with 7 days notice and the staff member who accepted my call literally laughed at me saying I needed to give 3 weeks notice to reserve. So if you are organised and have three weeks spare to reserve go for it otherwise just walk in and hope for the best. The food is great but the staff could be a little friendlier by perhaps offering a waiting list. Wouldn't go back after that!
