  Loved the coffee, but managed to stay off the cakes. No bad considering that they look amazing

  This was my first visit to this place after it reopened under new owners and a very pleasant time was had by all in Walkers Anonymous, an out and about group I facilitate. In fact it instantly went into our top ten, and is probably the friendliest place we have visited. We had just finished our first exploration of Epping Forest of the year, and had got a good coating of mud on our boots. Not a problem, they are used to worse and we very glad to sit down after slogging a few miles. I was glad to see that bread pudding was on the menu. This was a speciality of the café before it closed, and it was better than ever. Even better, there were many other cakes on offer, so another visit seems essential. Roll on my next bike trip to Epping Forest!

  We used the cafe as a base for our TV shoot and they couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was delicious (amazing breakfasts, homemade lasagne and cakes and sandwiches!) and the staff were really lovely.

  Nice little cafe on the edge of the forest, opposite the golf course. Had coffees and hot chocolates with the kids. Not the cheapest, but the drinks were good quality. They do hot food but didn't stay to try. Ideally located before hopping back on the train into the city.

  People AND dog friendly. The perfect stop after a leisurely dog walk through the forest and along the plains. I had the butternut squash and chickpea curry with rice - absolutely mouth watering. My only criticism... bigger portion size! Yum!
