  Lovely eating place on the outskirts of Banbury. We picked it for its location to break a long journey but we'll certainly be back

  Ok - an honest review. Nice atmosphere, relaxed and smart without being pretentious, helpful, polite staff, young and friendly (except one who was polite enough but “barked” your order to you - not rude just that I’m not called “CRUMBLE” and my wife isn’t called “ROAST”) The food - we are not critics but have eaten well from Harry Ramsdens to two stars - we tried this as somewhere different. Service is good, portions are good, ingredients are fresh BUT food is for us OK. - it’s home cooked decent food but for the price you expect more - you don’t lick your lips you just feel satisfied. You will eat at far worse but you can eat better for less, the prices are alittle too steep for what you get. That said - would I go back - yes, would I rush back - no.

  Really nice little pub. We visited on a freezing cold day in December after a walk. We pulled up a table and they treated us really well. We asked them if we could borrow some cards - they obliged! One of us ordered a hot chocolate but since there was nobody else there a day the machine makes more than one portion as a minimum, they just gave us the rest for free. The decor was interesting and the seats comfy. We didn't use it, but there was clearly some nice outdoor seating too and the capacity for a BBQ and family games. Great place.
