::Rude staff. Was asked not so nicely to move whilst eating. Then made to feel like I was being unreasonable for saying they were rude. Typical Lewes attitude people.

::A really sweet little tea room with lots of train photographs. Home made sandwiches and cakes, it's like stepping back in time (except with modern day prices). Very warm and cozy

::What a great place- nicely arranged flowers on each table, a good range of sandwiches, paninis, smoothies etc and hot dishes prepared to order like fish pie and frittata - all at very reasonable prices. Best of all such friendly helpful staff to make this a regular port of call rather than eat in the town - almost worth a detour to stop at Lewis Station!

::My partner and I have spent many a happy half hour here with a cuppa whilst awaiting our train, the atmosphere and provisions are always charming and welcome. Unfortunately this morning I was greeted on the till by an exceptionally rude young man who made me feel very unwelcome and almost convinced me not to return. As fortune has it I have never been served previously in such a manner in The Runaway and my other dealings within the cafe have been wonderful. Had this been my first visit, I would absolutely not have gone back.

::Its great, but old fashioned - mostly in a good way. The fact it doesn't take cash is either refreshingly quaint or insane. That's up to you i suppose. The sandwiches are brilliant, hand-made and taste great - but don't forget your coins. Decoration could probably be updated by 20 years or so. Still - better than the generic offering of most stations.
