  Good local pub. Serves good beer, food and coffee. Old building hence inviting comforts like log fire.

  Rooms are particularly nice, with some great touches. Food in the restaurant is exceptional and you don't need to wander for a good evening.

  First of all, cant thank the management enough for allowing us to move our dates and cancel one of our three booked rooms following a bereavement. These were booked at a no cancellation rate too! Our two remaining rooms , booked for 5 nights, were seperate to the pub in a barn annex and were toasty warm, well equipped and serviced immaculately. Beautiful enamelled baths with shower attachment and lashings of hot water. (No shower cubicle) The pub itself has real ales, ciders and does great food. Its a small menu but has changing specials. Breakfast was what my group would call luxurious with a great selection of cooked items with the best ingredients as well as the usual fare. Lastly, the staff. They were all brilliant for us but we must single out the manager who sorted out our re- bookings for us and Carolyn who does just about everything else. David, the owner, makes a guest appearance occasionally and offered us useful advice about what to see in the locality. Our only complaint was we found the food extremely salty but the extra salt was not added to any of our future meals after our complaint. Will be back in the Summer!
