::Looking for a care home for your parents is probably one of the most disheartening experiences that you will ever have. I had been doing the rounds and was at the point where I honestly didn't believe that such a thing as a nice care home actually existed. Then I found The Willows. My heart lifted as soon as I entered the home. The ambiance of the place was that of a small hotel. The decor is lovely with bright and modern lounges that are so welcoming I felt I could move in myself. When I was shown a bedroom I was blown away. Just like a hotel bedroom, in fact of a much higher standard than some hotels I have actually stayed in. I had not seen any rooms of this standard in any of the other care homes I had visited. I had struck gold! Paul the owner was giving me the guided tour and I found his attitude and ethos to be just what I was looking for from a person that was going to be responsible for my Dads care. I was sold. Paul and Tracey went out to Blackpool Victoria Hospital to assess Dad and agreed that The Willows was a suitable place for his next step of recovery care and Dad moved into The Willows within a couple of weeks. Now my Dad is 87, not in great heath and has gradually lost weight over the past three years. Since being checked into The Willows he is now on a steady path of weight gain which we as a family are finding totally amazing. Dad is encouraged to eat and the meals are designed to give him everything he needs to ensure the correct dietary needs are being met. The homes focus on hydration of residents is excellent reflecting the importance of keeping the body well hydrated. Each and every member of The Willows team is exceptional. They are attentive to every residents individual needs, this I have witnessed on my daily visits to Dad and this gives me complete confidence and peace of mind and I know that Dad is getting the best of care. So much so that I booked Mum into The Willows for a week whilst I took a holiday, something I thought Id never be able to do. Dad is coming to the end of his time at The Willows as he and Mum are moving down south to be nearer more family. This was a move that we were unsure would be able to happen due to Dads health but now after 3 months Dad is fit enough to be able to make this move. We can't thank Paul, Tracey and The Willows Team for being instrumental in making this happen for Dad. Without their care and dedication and the wonderful environment they provide we know that Dad would not have improved so much to enable him to make this move. Team Willow, please accept our heartfelt thanks for everything you've done, you are all amazing and one of the nicest bunch of people I've had the pleasure to meet The Daltons
