::This got two stars solely because, one, the meats were cooked actually pretty well. The second star was because whilst I was with my little one trying to juggle plates heading back from the carvery a staff member went out of his way to offer to carry the plates for me, which was genuinely nice. Now the bad stuff, the place is pretty worn and probably needs a refurb. The temperature in that place was ridiculously hot, I could see air conditioning units in the roof but I couldn't feel them. Our party of nine agreed, it's mid March, open some windows if you don't want to run the air con. None of the beer taps were on at the bar, in fairness due to an issue in the cellar, so probably a one off. I order a tinned beer instead, which were in the fridges behind the bar, but it was warm, not even slightly cool. I took my little one to the toilets which are just totally unacceptable and disgusting. It was a 'tissue on the toilet seat job' and me repeating "don't touch anything" to my little one many many times during the little visit to the bathroom. There clearly isn't a regular clean pattern. Half the staff seemed alright, some were clearly uninterested, notably the bar man who managed to grunt his way through our entire payment process. My feeling was a range of overworked underpaid people ran the place. There was not enough staff either, they could have doubled their staff numbers and even that might not have been enough. I've been to a few other Toby Carvery's before and this has sadly been the worst, by a fair margin, which is a shame as it's my most local one.

::We always visit Toby Carvery in Banbury. We love Carvery there because it’s very value for money. Young waiter Simon’s customer service is excellent, he made sure that we were happy about food and satisfied our customersized needs. Waitress Wendy made my partner very lovely cocktails which is not on the menu, thank you so much! If you could serve pork cracklings for Carvery will be perfect. Every time I suggested this, but still no pork cracklings in Banbury.

::Used to go to Banbury Toby on a regular basis but it has gone downhill so badly. Had a table for 16 booked and deposit paid a week before Xmas, On arrival was told they knew nothing about it, No manager or assistant available. Fortunately the staff on duty found us all tables. Since Xmas have been in and told short of meat etc. Our friends have had same experience. We booked a table recently and we were OK but any walk ins were sent away as no meat. This happened again on Tuesday evening. Having spent 7 hours in A&E we didn't want to cook so went to Banbury Toby, only to be told if we hadn't got a table booked we could not go in as there wasn't enough meat. Used to love it there, but not anymore. Will try once more with our friends soon. Let's hope it is better this time

::Excellent carvery. Staff were very friendly. Booked a table for 1215, arrived much earlier than expected. Not a problem, was seated straight away. We were one of the first to go up for the food and was a little disappointed that the veg was not very hot. All in all an excellent meal, will certainly go back.
