  Not a bad boozer. Seems to be mostly full of tourists. Not much in the way of craft beers but they were playing some decent tunes. Bit of old school rock and Bob Dylan. Didn't have any food but they have a section of the pub set aside for it.

  This was our first pub experience in Scotland, the staff members were lovely. They serve local Edinburgh beers and we didn’t know what to order...so the bartender decided to give us few test of the Scottish beers. Finally I ordered Edinburgh Ale: very tasty and later on the Caledonian. Both the exterior and the interior of the Tavern look amazing: with stones, leather, wood, paintings, old books and you really feel like you are in a historical movie from the XVI century. The location is great too: on the Royal Mile and on the way to Arthur’s Seat. Please note: if you wish to experience a traditional Scottish pub make sure you make a stop here. We enjoyed our experience in Tolbooth Tavern!!!

  The food and staff were great. We had the Haggis and Mac and Cheese. Great value for money. I love proper okd pubs like this.

  A lovely pub on the Royal Mile that serves a myriad of whiskies & local ales. Very friendly & talkative staff who take the time to make you feel welcome. Food is served there; l didn't try it but it looked delicious.

  We found this little place quite by accident and what a find it is. Lovely friendly staff, warm and welcoming. The food is delicious, nicely presented and large portions. Tried their Haggis Stack, Beautiful beefburger with onion rings, chilli beef with taco shells, today we tried their steal and always pie, absolutely gorgeous, meat just melted in your mouth. No complaints whatsoever, sorry to be going home tomorrow,
