  Been refurbished. We were in the house at the back of the hotel, could do with some modifications but restaurant was nice. Breakfast was not so great wouldn't recommend it

  Poor standard of food, what's the service charge all about??? Great looking place but surely the food should match. Poor effort over priced and a massive let down. Come on guys you can do better...

  Stayed on Friday for the Murder Mystery evening. Hotel was dirty, no working radiator, bathroom was falling apart. I am celiac so therefore requested gluten free dinner and breakfast which was confirmed with us before we went and was obviously included in the price. They gave us gluten free food at Dinner which wasn't great but luckily the company that run the Murder Mystery were brilliant. In the morning we went down to the restaurant and asked the waitress for the gluten free vegetarian breakfast, she went and asked the kitchen who had no idea about our request. Felt bad for the waitress as she was the only one in a full restaurant. We asked to speak to the manager and she told us he was in a meeting off-site meaning there was no management at all in the hotel?! Hard to believe and also illegal. We eventually persuaded her to call him so we could speak to him, we received absolutely no apology or any help with our request and he was incredibly rude. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

  Stayed on the 1st floor just above the restaurant and you could hear the load music from below from 7am and could hear the staff from 6am till about 11pm. Very dated and doors in the room didn't seem to secure when locked and some sockets didn't work in the room. Breakfast next morning was microwaved and very poor for £7. I will not be staying there again as there are better hotels nearby for about the same money. Staff were ok but would not recommend the hotel. 2/10

  Price is incredibly reasonable. Hotel itself is beautiful, grand reception stairway. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Room is dated but clean and comfortable the Smart TV in the room is really good, its large and well placed. ample coffee and tea, with biscuits room did feel a little cold and came with heater shower water pressure was a little low would book again for short stay
