  I enjoyed one night at Uplands House last week whilst on a business trip. Poppy and Graham are an excellent team. Their attention to detail is better than any other B&B I have stayed at – the flowers around the house are beautiful, as is the garden – not normally features I would notice! The evening meal was excellent – in particular Graham’s ratatouille was outstanding and should be bottled for sale immediately. The wine list was a first for any B&B I’ve stayed at and Poppy’s suggestion for wine went perfectly with the meal. I would stay again without hesitation.

  Stayed for one night. Made to feel welcome and given a cup of tea in front of a roaring log fire. Room warm and cozy with en suite. Bath with telephone shower. Lots of ornaments and pictures giving it a homely feel. Lovely home cooked evening meal with Poppy and Graham. Home made jams and massive cooked breakfast. It is clear Poppy enjoys meeting and getting to know her guests. Very convenient for a number of stately homes.

  We stayed at Uplands house with our baby last week end, and had a very nice time. Poppy was a perfect host; and she gave us the most adorable welcome. The house is charming and the rooms are perfectly clean. We had dinner with Poppy and other guests. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere very warm and friendly. You should follow Poppy's advice as regards the wine choice for diner (she has a delicious Italian wine) and for the nearby visits. We would absolutely recommend a stay at Poppy's, and if you go there, don't go away for dinner and share Poppy's table!!

  I recently spent a wonderful weekend at Uplands House and felt compelled to write a review. Our hosts, Poppy and Graham, were extremely accommodating and helpful providing us with many suggestions of what to do locally, the rooms were clean and tidy and excellently fitted out and the gardens were beautiful. The highlight of the weekend though was dinner provided for us on Saturday evening which we shared with the other guests. Poppy and Graham provided such a relaxed environment it felt more like a dinner with old friends rather than people we had just met, and of course the food was delicious. I hope to return soon and would thoroughly recommend a stay.

  What a wonderful weekend! Incredible food, very interesting company and conversation over dinner with Poppy, Graham and the other guests - it was like a little dinner party! We were looking for a romantic and relaxing break from London and the room Harry and I (my boyfriend) stayed in (the "Four Poster" bedroom) was so warm in all sense of the word and I actually enjoyed waking up (very shocking coming from me!) to such beautiful views! The gardens are incredible, particularly the rose garden even though it wasn't particularly sunny! - Poppy was so accommodating to every little whim we and told us about all the best things we could do within walking distance (we were car-less coming by train from London) and we returned to London thinking about the best dates we could return! Thank you again Poppy and Graham - highly recommended to all ages!
