  Only three main shops, but worth visiting for John Lewis. Car park free for four hours which is more than enough time to browse and make your purchase.

  Love going to monks cross plenty of good shopping can be done. Clothes, food, furniture etc easier to shop there as there is plenty of parking available. Far better than going into York centre.

  Most expensive parking in York! Beware of the 4 hour rule! The agents for this park are zealous in their attempts to gain parking fines, and try to enforce fines on parking in excess of 4 hours, which is easily done with a multitude of restaurants, large M&S, Next and John Lewis stores. Shame on these retailers for allowing this extortion. Maybe they don't want to encourage browsing and a high level of spend?

  M&S Food is amazing; the lemon and white chocolate tarts from the bakery are delicious. The rotisserie chicken here is great and great value for money if you get there 30 mins before closing they start reducing the prices from £7 to £2. I've overheard people buying cooked chicken just for their cat. At least this way it's slightly more affordable!
