::Turning in and onto the A64 is desperate. If you're not a confident driver then don't bother otherwise you will never get out alive. Approached a member of staff as was considering buying around 200 pounds worth of plants. She was very pleasant said they could offer a ten percent discount when buying goods over 100 pounds. Paying it took ages to be served as they only had two people on and it was a Saturday. The people in front of us in the que were buying some trees and they were offered a 10 percent discount by the lady who I had spoken to. I ended up being served by a man covered in mud from head to toe who I assumed to be the owner. I mentioned about the discount the member of staff had offered but he took it very badly and was quite aggressive. If you can't afford to give small discounts that is fine but the staff shouldn't be telling customers otherwise. Paid cash and was given no receipt. No offer of help to load two 30kg planters. Won't be returning even though I have five other plots to plant with the same planting scheme, that's around a thousand pounds of trade they have lost.

::Visited here today as my landlord has very kindly let me spend lots of his money on fruit trees, bushes and flowers etc! First impressions were great, felt like a theme park for gardeners. Beautiful tall healthy trees everywhere, and row upon row of shrubs etc. The young lady who guided us around, on what admittedly turned into quite an exhaustive search, was without exception, one of the loveliest people I have met - friendly , knowledgeable, charming. I believe her name was Sue? I also wanted to mention the chap who managed to drop two tippers worth of mulch into our transit van, with barely two inches clearance either side - the guy has the eye of a surgeon! Last, it is a bit disparaging to hear negative comments about the dog, who, by the way seemingly greets everyone who visits. In that regard i think them a valuable member of your team. Thank you Vertigrow - you are fantastic.

::Not good for reasonably priced plants, most imported Italy. Staff not horticulturists, rubbish everywhere. Around the cafe it stincks of sewage, great place to have a meal not.

::A lovely cafe and an amazing garden centre - we visit every time we come back up home. The plants are healthy and cheap. The fact that they are mainly grown outside in the Yorkshire weather seems to mean they are robust and it's got some great things to give as presents. We love it

::I can't recommend this nursery enough. Such helpful staff and very reasonable. Excellent quality. The range of veg and plants is astounding! Shame the A64 is such a pig of a road sometimes but its well worth the traffic!
