::The refurbishment is excellent. The car park is vastly improved, well lit and warm, and the shopping area utterly transformed. The large central plaza feels refreshing and modern, with a far greater choice of shops, some of a much higher calibre than before. Unlike the old Westgate, which felt incredibly cramped, the new build is much more open, and has a far better flow of people. One really great aspect is that the diversity of shops is excellent. The range of companies present is far broader than expected, with a good mix of well known brands, more niche chains, and true independent retailers. Absolutely the shopping experience Oxford has needed for a very long time, and puts a fair few similar cities to shame.

::This is a new addition to the Oxford city centre and apart from the library everything has been demolished and rebuilt. some facts about Westgate from their website:In March 2012 Oxford City Council’s West Area Planning Committee resolved to grant planning permission for the outline plans to redevelop the Westgate Centre. The plans were approved following detailed public consultation. The outline plans, the first part of a two stage planning process, provides the framework and the development principles for the site which included layout, size of the building and access. In April 2014 Westgate Oxford Alliance held a five day exhibition to show the emerging detailed designs (Reserved Matters) for the proposed redevelopment of the Westgate Centre and adjacent land. Following a review of the feedback from the exhibition and other key local stakeholders, Westgate Oxford Alliance exhibited revised detailed designs before the submission of a Reserved Matters planning application in Autumn 2014.

::I wonderful variety of shops all of which are very well done with amazing items that appeal to many. They layout and feel of the area is amazing and is a great place for shopping lovers. There is also a nice amount of place to eat, even if you're a picky water you will definitely find a place you'll love to eat here.

::Beautiful shopping centre, anchored by John Lewis it has a vast array of shops cinema and eateries over many layers, the car parking is excellent with little green lights over each bay indicating a free space, brilliant. Went into a Belgian coffee shop near to John Lewis, awesome, ordered a large coffee which came in a soup bowl sized cup with no handles, had two savoury scones which were excellent to an extreme where I want to go back. Westgate leads onto the other town centre streets creating a destination shopping city.

::Excellent shops and long overdue for the city. A shopping experience to compete with big city shopping. Great brands if a little on the expensive side. Not all the places were open yet but the ground floor eateries offer cheaper bites in a food court and the roof area has a good range of restaurants and some great views over the city. The escalators and lifts are not the most conveniently placed and we ended up walking quite far out of our way to get to specific shops directly below us.
