  Good location, good size, but the staff are unhelpful. I've tried to buy DVDs to be told they couldn't match the film with the box, tried to buy drinks to be told the barcode isn't working. It is a lot better when better staffed in the day, but seems to go to pot in the evening. Its a shame. The shop is well stocked and open late, but their service could do with some work.

  This is a big W H Smith's and in the days before ubiquitous Facebook/Google/news/media on phones, it was a v popular haunt for those wanting to spend a few productive moments (albeit unprepared) while waiting for a train (bacuase waiting is soooo boring!!! Random magazines, fantastic selection, lots of sweets to tempt you to deviate from you diet, bottles of plastic to end up in the oceans and of course books. Worth a visit even if you do have lots of data on your phone. :-)

  I called in the store at 5.35 pm today to get stamps. In a rush because my train was due. I paid with a £20 more which was all I had and was given change for 10. I queried this but was told "there were no £20 notes in the till" what on a Saturday evening ?! I had no time to argue with the guy and had to dash. I realised I had no receipt either. If the till is £10 over at the end of the day - it's mine!!! Give it to charity.
