::AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, if they worked for me they would be out. Now a WH Smith staff-sink shop (and I have been going there since the 70's). Witnessed an awful row in WH Smith Forest Hill on 19 Dec 2017 - customer was querying why no-one had put up a notice that a facility in Post Office section was unavailable, resulting in her waiting for 30min for nothing. Admittedly the shop section down below is not related to the PO, but when customer raised the subject, the ignorant shop assistant accused customer of shouting (which she was not, I was standing three metres away browsing a book during the whole affair), shouted out that she was not going to talk to her, and walked off, leaving the till, shouting that the customer was rude and out of order. Disgraceful. Then replaced by another employee who refused to answer customer's questions about who was the manager, what is his or or her name, then saying she did not know his/her name, look on the website. Then refusing to give the website address. I got so upset I had to chip in and then was asked repeatedly why I was getting involved, "Because this is absolutely appalling customer service, I am a customer also and I would not wish to be treated to such disgraceful behaviour". Many customers waiting in the queue. I suspect racism may have played a part - the original teller who lost the plot blew up at the slightest provocation (such as it was - a well-mannered complaint) was white and the customer was black. the replacement teller was white also and they just stuck to a line. I am white by the way.

::A strange experience awaits those who dare! They rarely open on time and in fact miss the appointed period by fifteen or twenty minutes. When I asked if I was somehow misunderstanding their opening sign the lady whom I see there often stated, aggressively, that "we open when we unlock the door". I own a retail outlet and if this person worked for me she would be taken to the stock room and shot between the eyes with a spud gun and told to never darken our doors again. So in summary, go there, if only to see how a business should not be ran.

::Illogical layout and poor service. Post office is upstairs, but you cant buy envelopes from them. Go downstairs..can buy an envelope but not stamps! After taking a pushchair up and down the lift 4 times i gave up and left. Staff were pleasant but not particularly helpful and seemed not to understand why I thought it strange a post office didnt sell envelopes..
