Lovely site with clean facilities. Owners were very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. We arrived in the area early but on emailing the owner said we could check in a little earlier. Toilets were very clean with plenty of toilet paper. Had been worried about some of the less flattering reviews but so glad we didn't take them too seriously. The road is a bit busier than we thought it would be but the noise didn't cause us any real problems and to be fair a road to Selby had been closed which may have meant more traffic. Electricity meter wasn't a problem and actually made us a bit more aware of our usage. Nice atmosphere on an evening with other campers sat around the fire pits they'd hired. Overall a great site and we've had a good relaxing break. Couldn't really ask more from a site for a relaxing break. Would definitely come back again and definitely recommend.

This has got to be the best site I have found yet close to Selby and very quiet and peaceful great pitch other caravanerrs so nice and owners are great staying for couple of weeks and had a ball very relaxing you pay for an electric card on top off site fee but still a lot cheaper than other sites I have been at. Facilities good with a morning wake up from local chickens having a ball and would recommend to anyone just a nice place to stay and not a mole in sight.

Open in warmer months. A peacefull and scenic site, with fire pits and fuel available, interesting vehicle collection and friendly owners make this a site worth visiting for a north Yorkshire touring break. Highly recommended.

Can't understand what all the fuss is about, it's a fabulous site, we go there often, in fact will be going tomorrow and staying until August Bank Holiday weekend. We've been camping and caravanning for over 40 yrs and it has always been 1 pitch for either caravan, tent, trailer tent or motorhome. A pup tent is sometimes allowed on the pitch at the owner's discretion for 1 child only. I can understand why the people who wanted 3 tents on 1 pitch were told that it was against the rules. You must remember that the owners are bound by the rules of the Camping Club. It is the owners choice not to allow electric hook ups and I believe this is for safety and insurance reasons. Yes, I understand other sites allow it and we've had electric supplied when we had tents. Some people need to try tenting with no electricity, use those brains of yours to get round the problem, Get an inverter for small wattage hairdryers, use gas tongs or straighteners. If you get cold use a butane gas fire, they re small enough to take with you. Think about it, we had to all those years ago, now it's your turn.

Booked for 2 nights and had an amazing time. there are no hook ups for tents, which was not a problem for us, however the pitchup.co.uk site and some others say that they have, however after speaking to the owners they did not know they were on those sites, so just be aware - it's not the owners fault! Price was awesome, the site was basic, but toilets were clean, washing area does not have warm water, however there is a reason for that. Yes you have to pay for the showers but the 5 minutes were more like 20 when we used them. Excellent fire pit service and wood supplied on site at a cheap rate, and I would rather the money went into their pockets than some supermarket or garage. The owners are super friendly and joined all the kids on site for a late night wildlife walk - our kids loved hanging out with them. Yes there are bugs - but guess what - you're camping! I don't know what some people expect some times! - With some tender love and care this site could be amazing! However, that being said, we had a safe, fun time and will definitely be going back now we have found it.
