  Poetry in Motion is a small, very unobtrusive bike shop, just off Fossgate, on the north side of the Bridge over the Foss. The owner's name is Dylan Thomas and he has an immense breadth of knowledge about bicycles. If you want it, he can get it. He is connected intimately to the bicycle community and knows who can perform which services. In my case, an older racing bike, he was the only technician in town, that I met, who had the answers and know-how I needed. His was the 4th shop I went to in a state of frustration. This is not some snazzy, glossy shop displaying the shiniest and newest merchandise, with slick sales. His is a hardcore bike building and repair shop. Unlike every other shop I visited in York, he HAD a thread gauge, and actually knew HOW to use it. When problems, with what is now an exotic/old school build arose, he fixed them. He proved to be a small business owner, who I learned was a trustworthy, talented craftsman.
