  Would give minus stars if I could. Dirty & smelly. £10 'entrance' fee. No oomph band just loud repeat music over speaker. Stags splashing beer & rolling about filthy floor. Avoid at all costs.

  I purchased a Groupon voucher for this venue and had been looking forward to taking my partner ever since I purchased the voucher in July. So on Saturday we thought we would go for a fun night as we thought it would be something different and entertaining. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN! From the whole process of trying to book to then entering the venue was a complete and utter shambles. You cannot book as the phone line doesn't work! If you email you get no response. So you have to call the Newcastle venue to get some response but even then they can't help. So last resort is a Facebook message, and may I add the least professional message I've ever received from a business! Eventually they said they had booked us a table for 8pm so we could arrive any time before 9pm to wait for the band to start. Upon arrival the place stank of stale beer and BO. We looked past this and went to our allocated bench. We then received our flat BECKS beer in our plastic stein and sat waiting for said band to begin. We sat for an hour and a half but no band showed up. The place was empty, the staff just stood around the bar on their phones and the man who claimed to be the band eventually took to the small stage in the corner. So what was meant to be an oompa band, was instead a rude, arrogant man in fancy dress on a laptop playing some German songs on repeat. He was patronising to all the guests and was the least German looking person I've ever seen in my entire life. After finding the whole thing a complete joke I thought I'd quickly make a visit to the toilet before we cut our night short. Well, all I can say is they are the worst toilets I've ever been into in my life. Urine everywhere, no toilet roll, dirty and smelly and just generally disgusting. BIERKELLER YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. To make it worse the place was empty and the toilets weren't even clean. The staff and management need to get a grip. And to be truthful this place needs shutting down. Don't even bother wasting your time or money. I've been into some bad bars before but this is the worst by far I've ever laid my eyes on. Dirty, smelly and so unprofessional from start to finish. And not to mention the false advertising. Don't lie and say you have a band when you Don't! Sort it out! If You want to go to bierkeller just go to Leeds! As it is 1000000 times better than this shack. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!

  We decided to give this place a try for a friend's birthday. If you know anything about German bier culture, you will not enjoy this. There is no Oompa band. They say there is, there is not. It is a fat man pretending to be German, telling you to dance along to 6 different songs on iTunes and drink. The free beer is average, the toilets are disgusting and the cocktail has no booze in it. We were cautious of a the reviews before saying it was bad, but unfortunately didn't believe it. Final thought: Just don't. A normal pub is better

  So so terrible. I would be ashamed to have the "beirkeller" brand in that place. Leeds, Newcastle and Manchester are brilliant! Yorks is like a run down student night club with plastic stines! 1 star for me

  Awful place, the house beer was disgusting what ever it was! The bad didn't turn up and the toilets were summat else! Stay away.
